Even if you learn new words in English everyday and try to speak in English as smoothly as you can, sooner or later you will suddenly hit a wall. The wall of fluency where you may not be able to express yourself properly and as clearly as you hoped.

While being a good english learner, if you encounter a situation where you may not have a clear idea of what to say and how to say even the simplest things, then don’t get disheartened as you are not alone in this world as being a very common problem everyone has experienced this situation. Here, we would like to share some valuable tips with you that will help you know about what to do when you hit a wall in your English fluency.

1. Pause & give it a break.

Whenever you encounter a situation where you come to know that you are not able to speak fluently in English, it does not mean that you give up the idea of being fluent in English. It rather means that you step back and reassess your situation. This may call for you to conduct a retrospective session in which you must try to understand your current situation and identify the areas where you have to work on yourself.

Like I said it’s a time for you to work on the areas where you might need to work on the basics. You would need to work on the grammar part, your vocabulary and the way you make sentence constructions while having conversation with others. For this, you may have to change your learning methods. Watching English TV shows and Movies, changing your language teacher if the situation calls for it. Giving a break to yourself means that you are trying to improve yourself.

2. Reflect on your current progress

If you are doing some sort of activity to improve your English fluency. Be it taking classes, practicing on speaking or indulging yourself in the language, watching english and movies or reading books, it is essential that you keep track of the enhancement you are making to yourself. You need to introspect where you have reached and what your old level was. You need to measure how you are doing. This will help you incredibly to keep yourself motivated.

One way to do this is to take a look at how you were doing when you first started out. Track your progress as to how better you are at using the language now than when you first started. You can also compare your current level to where you want to be.

3. Set smaller goals

One of the most powerful ways to gain fluency in English is setting smaller goals. Instead of learning a bunch of new vocabulary words all at once, focus on learning one new word a day. Or, instead of reading an entire novel in English, read one chapter. You can achieve smaller goals more efficiently than bigger and time taking goals. You need to be constructive in your approach as you can become fluent in English by midnight.

If you make a bigger goal, you will not be able to improve yourself quickly. You may also not be able to gauge the level of your performance and efficiency. If you want to improve your English and become fluent in it then you must join any English learning institute in Mumbai where you can achieve your smaller goals.

4. Practice more

It’s not only about English but any language that you want to be fluent in, you must practice to speak in it as much as you can. The more you practice the more you will gain. If you watch english content and listen to it multiple times then you get accustomed to speaking it the same way. Therefore it is strenuously advised to watch English movies and TV shows so that you can not only learn to speak fluently in English, but also you also get to learn native english which includes many phrases which native english speakers generally use in their conversations.

You must read out loud to become fluent in english. The more you expose yourself to the language, the easier it will become. Don’t be discouraged if you find yourself making mistakes. Everyone makes mistakes when learning a new language. Just keep practicing and you will eventually become more fluent.

5. Seek out a tutor

One of the most important tasks that you have to do is to find the right mentor or tutor who can teach you not to speak in English but also can work on the areas where you are not able to achieve fluency in it. They would tell you how to say a word where it is properly utilized to communicate your message. A tutor can also provide you with feedback on your progress and help you to get engaged and set goals for your continued learning.
